Trump announced that if he comes to power, he will re-institute a 5-year ban on all executive branch officials lobbying the government for 5 years after they leave government service.
The definition of lobbyist will be expanded so that all the loopholes that former government officials use by labeling themselves as consultants and advisors can be closed. He would also ask Congress to institute its own 5-year lobbying ban on former congressmen and congressional staff.
