The last time the prediction center issued a high-risk weather outlook - where forecasters are very confident of a tornado outbreak - was in 2014.
The other deaths in Georgia were reported elsewhere.
Sebon Burns, the county's deputy chief for emergency management, said search and rescue efforts were continuing today following reports of injuries and extensive damage. Four died Saturday in Mississippi.
Deal had declared a state of emergency in Georgia for seven south-central counties. Just before dawn Sunday, officials in Cook County, just south of Tifton, said a tornado tore through a mobile home park near Adel.

Two more deaths were confirmed in nearby Berrien County after a tree fell on a home, the coroner's office said.
Georgia was the worst hit with 14 people killed including seven who died when a tornado ripped through a mobile home park. A strong to severe storm is not out of the question through 11 a.m. Stay close to weather information through Sunday morning.
Since early Saturday morning, a preliminary 30 reports of tornadoes have been tallied up from Louisiana to southern MS, southern Alabama and southern Georgia, according to NOAA's Storm Prediction Center.
Across the affected areas in the southern USA, local authorities said they expected death tolls to continue to rise as rescue workers gained access to more sites of destruction.
The tornado warning included the cities of Atlanta, Georgia, and Tallahassee and Panama City in Florida, which reportedly remained in effect until Sunday night, CNN wrote. According to state officials, more than 50 others were injured and about 480 homes were damaged. He said in a statement that the state would request federal assistance in the storms's aftermath.
