The Rome subway was closed and schools were evacuated in both the region close to the quakes and the Italian capital as a safety precaution.
On January 14, Pope Francis baptised 13 babies from central Italy, in a gesture of closeness to the victims of last year's earthquakes. A second quake with a magnitude of 5.7 hit the same area about 50 minutes later, and ten minutes later a third was measured at magnitude-5.3. The four quakes caused buildings to collapse but miraculously resulted in a relativelly small number of deaths or injuries.
Today's events are part of the aftershock sequence of the 24 August 2016 Amatrice quake.
The three quakes struck within sixty minutes of each other about 65 miles north east of Rome. Experts suggested Italian people should keep vigilant since more earthquakes are not impossible. The earthquakes were accompanied by more than 70 nearly continuous tremors that shook the region, including several over magnitude 4.
LinkedIn overhauls its desktop website
LinkedIn is giving users more control over content they see, for example, adding options to unfollow or hide a post. In November previous year , Facebook introduced features similar to the key features of LinkedIn like Job Listing.
The tremors were felt across the Abruzzo, Lazio and Marche regions and also in Rome, over 100 kilometres (60 miles) away.
As of now, no damage or causalities have been reported. That is significant, but still much weaker than the 6.5-magnitude temblor the shook the area near Perugia in October 2016, or the 6.2-magnitude quake near Amatrice in August 2016.
The tremors came after some 36 hours of steady snowfall in mountainous areas around Amatrice and Norcia. "That's what I have been asking since yesterday", Amatrice Mayor Sergio Pirozzi told the AFP news agency. The issue is not about the earthquakes but rather the snow as there are isolated villages which are shrouded in two meters of snow.
"An natural disaster in Italy is an quake in Europe - that's the way I'm considering this sad event". "I have no words". Tremors have reshaped more than 230 square miles of land.
