Jim Furyk has revealed his delight after being named as the United States skipper for the 2018 Ryder Cup at Le Golf National in Paris.
Love won't be going far from the Ryder Cup, however, as Furyk has named Love as one of his assistant captains for the matches.
Furyk, who won the 2003 US Open, made his Ryder Cup debut in Spain in 1997 and last played at Gleneagles in Scotland in 2014. "I get chills thinking about all the events that I've been able to participate in, and how fortunate I've been, and now to sit here as 2018 captain, it's such an honor".
Jim Furyk has been appointed usa captain for the 2018 Ryder Cup in France. The man with the amusing swing, who has won 17 PGA Tour titles including the 2003 U.S. Open, still has plenty of game at 46. He set a PGA Tour record in August with a 58 in the final round of the Travelers Championship. "They are loud and boisterous, and great fans and that whole atmosphere is going to present a very hard challenge for Team USA".
Last month Furyk said: "It really helped to be an assistant for Davis".

"He's going to have everything written down in front of him, he's going to utilise the PGA of America and I think he's going to be a good captain". He'll be in charge of a team that will try to win on European soil for the first time since 1993.
That raises the intriguing possibility of a first playing captain in the biennial event since Arnold Palmer in 1963, although world number 37 Furyk claims he has not given the matter much thought. "I can't wait to start this process" The Guardian quoted Furyk as saying.
"It's no secret, it's been my favorite event my entire career", Furyk said Wednesday after being introduced by PGA of America president Paul Levy, a member of the six-person committee that appointed Furyk. It's exciting, and it's a new day and age for the U.S. Ryder Cup team. He knows this: If he tried to be a "rah-rah" guy, he wouldn't be true to himself.
The 2018 Ryder Cup gets under way in the French capital on September 28, 2018.
Bjorn was quick to congratulate Furyk on his appointment as captain.
