As many as 40 people are said to be injured in the ghastly attack.
The Taliban immediately claimed responsibility for the Kabul, Afghanistan suicide attack, the worst the city has seen in many months, in a public statement. The attack took place during rush hour, when staff were leaving the parliament complex.
Dozens of people have been killed in Afghanistan in one of the worst outbreaks of violence in recent weeks.
On the same day as the two attacks, seven people were killed in a Taliban attack on a security unit in the southern province of Helmand.

The group said its target was a minibus carrying staff from the National Directorate of Security (NDS), Afghanis- tan's main intelligence agency. "We planned this attack for quite some time and the plan was [to] target some senior officers of the intelligence agency".
That incident ended two hours later when all seven attackers, including a suicide auto bomber, were gunned down by Afghan forces.
The incidents come after a period of relative calm in Afghanistan's capital.
