Earlier this week news broke that St-Pierre and the UFC had agreed to terms on a multi-fight deal that would bring the Canadian phenom back home inside the Octagon.
So far there have been no opponents or return dates announced, but White mentioned that the victor of the rematch between Tyron Woodley and Stephen Thompson in UFC 209 for the welterweight title could be a possible opponent for St. -Pierre.
"It could be the victor [of the March 4 welterweight title fight] between Tyron Woodley and Stephen "Wonderboy" Thompson, or it could be [middleweight champion] Michael Bisping", White told the LA Times. "We'll get there", Punk said.
St-Pierre stepped away from the sport in November of 2013 after making the ninth consecutive defense of his UFC welterweight championship.
The 35-year-old Montreal native cited a need for time off following the bout, but also questioned the UFC's drug-testing policies. He answered that setback by defeating Serra in April 2008.

Up at middleweight, champion Michael Bisping has expressed his desire to secure a lucrative bout against GSP, who should return to the Octogon later this year.
Woodley and Thompson are slated to meet in the March 4 main event at UFC 209, while Bisping is now on the sidelines dealing with a knee injury.
