U.N. Syria envoy Staffan de Mistura is convening his first morning meeting with the delegation of the Syrian government, headed by Bashar al-Ja'aafari, on Thursday.
"We want direct talks, direct negotiation. It would save time and be proof of seriousness instead of negotiating in (separate) rooms", Salem al-Meslet, spokesman for the High Negotiations Committee (HNC) umbrella group, told AFP.
"Any party who refuses to condemn these attacks today we will consider that party to be an accomplice of terrorism", Jaafari said after his latest meeting with United Nations mediator Staffan de Mistura, who he said should also condemn the attacks.
Suicide bombers stormed two Syrian security offices in Homs on Saturday, killing dozens with gunfire and explosions including the head of military security, prompting airstrikes against the last rebel-held enclave in the western city. "Its' a lovely city with exceptional hospitality", Ja'afari said when asked whether talks to cement the ceasefire should resume there.

After the meeting with de Mistura, Bashar Jaafari said that the UN Special Envoy presented the list of questions to Syrian delegation for the analysis at the next meeting, the time of which has not been yet determined.
The Al-Nusra Front terror group, which renamed itself into itself Jabhat Fateh al-Sham, has claimed responsibility for the attack.Читайте также: 'Heartbroken' Ben Simmons to miss rest of National Basketball Association season with injury
A top diplomat from Syrian government delegation Saturday called for taking combating terrorism as a top priority in the ongoing intra-Syrian negotiations.
Warplanes also carried out six raids on Douma in the eastern suburbs of Damascus, resulting in six deaths, and earlier, an air raid in Hama killed four people from the same family, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.
De Mistura has played down expectations for major progress in the fourth round of Syria talks aimed at finding a political solution to the almost six-year-old conflict in the Arab country.
"What happened today could be counted as liquidation by the regime of [detainees] who are wanted by global courts".
Meanwhile, Syria's ambassador to the United Nations has underscored Damascus' resolve to "retaliate" against the sponsors of terrorists following the Saturday deadly attacks in Homs.
"If it (the process) brings all the parties to the table, and it leads to consolidating the cessation of hostilities, even if it doesn't make progress on the issues that are considered formally on the agenda, I think it could be regarded as a success", Dobbins said.При любом использовании материалов сайта и дочерних проектов, гиперссылка на обязательна.
