Misbah-ul-Haq will quit global cricket after the three-Test series in West Indies starting later this month.
Misbah will hang up his boots for good after the Test series in the West Indies which gets underway on April 21 and he is eager to go out on a high.
"I know my googlies are getting famous, but that's not the only one", Shadab told Associated Press from Guyana on Monday.
Speaking to media here, Misbah said he had planned earlier that West Indies series was important to bring confidence back to the team because the team performance had not been up-to-the-mark of late.
A reluctant spinner, Shadab comes from Mianwali, which is also the home town of Misbah and Pakistan's World Cup winning skipper Imran Khan.
He was appointed as test captain ahead of two-test series against South Africa at Abu Dhabi in 2010 after predecessor Salman Butt was suspended and later jailed on spot-fixing charges.
Former fast bowler Sikander Bakht said no cricketer has ever announced retirement like Misbah did today.

"One regret is that I never captained the Test team in Pakistan and also not captaining against India", said Misbah before stating that he will continue to play domestic cricket for "as long as I'm enjoying it". "It is a personal decision and the Pakistan Cricket Board has nothing to do with it". It is true that his dip in form coincided with the team's string of losses in Test matches but one should bear in mind that it was him who led the team to the number one ranking past year.
Misbah also bested a 49-year-old Pakistan record at Lord's by improving upon the 76 made by Asif Iqbal in his maiden Test knock at the venue while batting at No 9 in 1967.
Meanwhile, veteran all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez was the most notable exclusion from the Pakistan Test squad, which will be led by Misbah-ul-Haq.
Looking in good spirits despite the loss in the T20 series, the players were rushed off to the team hotel and included on the bus was Gabriel.
Misbah, howevber said that he will continue to play cricket at domestic level and will continue his cricket activities for a while. "You don't get everything you ask for".
The National Selection Committee, headed by Inzamam, announced the squad after consultation with head coach Mickey Arthur and captain Misbah-ul-Haq. "The upcoming series against West Indies will be my last".
The hosts are coming off an emphatic 3-1 loss to Pakistan in the preceding four-match Twenty20 worldwide series, and find themselves under pressure ahead of the one-day rubber. I enjoyed it a lot and I am very satisfied with whatever I did.
