In all likelihood, the SNES Mini will likely be almost identical to the miniature NES that came before it.
As you could see with the NES Classic's game line-up, the N64 Classic wouldn't just showcase games from Nintendo's library.
I hope if you wanted one, you got it, because last week Nintendo very quietly discontinued the device.
Should territorial distinctions continue, it could be called a Nintendo Classic Mini: Super Nintendo Entertainment System in Europe, or a Nintendo Classic Mini: Super Famicom in Japan, according to the console's original naming conventions.
On the other hand, Nintendo recently discontinued the Mini NES despite evidence of continuing huge demand that hasn't been satisfied by the paltry supply Nintendo rolled out to stores. So there's no way we see less than 30 games on this thing. Not at all. More so, considering Nintendo's sloth-like approach to adding games to it.
Nintendo May Release an SNES Classic Edition This Year
It looks like Nintendo has another video game console planned for 2017, and it's a throwback to the early 1990s. Nintendo pulled the NES Classic from its website not long ago and from retailers across the country.
"Throughout April, NOA territories will receive the last shipments of Nintendo Entertainment System: NES Classic Edition systems for this year", the platform holder said. For the SNES Mini, though, we'd love to be able to plug in our still-working AsciiPad or hook up the ridiculously large Super Advantage joystick to a new, HDMI-equipped system. Rumors claim that the company may have stopped the production to force gamers to turn to the Hybrid Switch Console, Extreme Tech reported.
It has been noted that the representative of Nintendo revealed that the NES Classic Edition wasn't planned to be a constant and long-term product. Regardless, the 16-bit platform housed many classics, and giving people another method to re-experience them is an exciting prospect.
The price and the included games are still not known and Nintendo has not confirmed anything.
Games such as Super Mario World, Donkey Kong Country and Super Metroid would likely be guaranteed to appear, as they're among the console's defining titles.
