Israelis and Palestinians have both disputed claims by the USA secretary of state that the Palestinian Authority will stop making payments to the families of Palestinians killed while attacking Israelis.
But Palestinian officials said they were not aware of any change in their longstanding policy.
On June 12, a bipartisan group of senators on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, including Committee Chairman Bob Corker (R-TN) and ranking Democrat Ben Cardin (MD), announced an agreement on a legislative package that would codify sanctions on Russian Federation that were imposed by the Obama Administration, thus taking out of President Trump's hands the ability to end them as quickly as Obama imposed them.
On Tuesday, Tillerson said that the PNA agreed to stop the payments for families of assailants, including suicide bombers who carried out attacks on Israelis.
"There will be no end to the payments", Issa Qaraqe, head of the Palestinian Committee of Prisoners' Affairs, told The Times of Israel.
"We have been very clear with them that this [practice of paying terrorists] is simply not acceptable to us", he added.

And he is dismissing as "a load of nonsense" the idea that Russian Federation has damaging information on President Donald Trump . In further denying Russia's role in the 2016 election, Putin said he "doesn't care" who the president is.
Tillerson was replying to a question from Senator Jim Risch (R-ID) regarding the salaries for murderers, and said that the issue "was discussed directly with President Abbas when he made his visit to Washington" in early May.
Tillerson testified before a Senate panel one day prior, where he initially suggested that the Palestinians had already changed their policy.
"Almost every other household among the Palestinian people is the family of a prisoner or martyr", he told Haaretz.
Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman said he'd seen no signs the Palestinian Authority had changed its policy. Attaching payments as recognition of violence or murders is something the American people could never accept or understand.' So we will continue this dialogue with them.
Tillerson noted that the U.S.is working closely with China on the North Korean problem and that Beijing had "taken steps, visible steps that we can confirm", in addressing the situation. The Israeli monitoring organization Palestinian Media Watch (PMW) on Wednesday pointed out that several Palestinian officials had said that the payments were non-negotiable.
According to its 2016 budget, the PA now pays 26,800 prisoner families the sum of $183 million per year.
