Thanking Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte for organising his visit to the Netherlands on "such a short notice", Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded the Netherlands for helping India successfully get a membership of the Missile Technology Control Regime (MTCR) a year ago.
During the meeting between PM Modi and President Trump, the former invited President and his family to visit India.
"To further our economic partnership, I'm excited to report that the prime minister's invited my daughter, Ivanka, to lead the United States delegation to the Global Entrepreneurship Summit in India this fall, and I believe she has accepted", Trump said. "We would discuss both bilateral issues and those concerning the world", Prime Minister Modi said ahead of talks with his Dutch counterpart Mark Rutte.
Modi arrived in the Netherlands on Tuesday on the third and final leg of his three-nation tour, after his high-profile USA visit and meeting with President Donald Trump.
He said Prime Minister Modi has announced major sustainability initiatives like "Clean India" and "Make in India" and asserted that The Netherlands is a key partner of India in a achieving its goal.
He said the "grand and warm welcome" extended to Modi by the White House and the US President speaks for the rising importance of India in the global economic and geo-political order. I have heard so much and I have been reading so much about you.
Trump also thanked India for joining the United States in imposing new sanctions against North Korea.
"I laud President Trump's commitment towards strong India-U.S. bilateral relations. So, I would like to congratulate him", he said.
"It is important that barriers be removed to the export of USA goods into your markets, and that we reduce our trade deficit with your country", Trump said.
