A man wearing doctor's coat on Friday afternoon visited a New York City hospital and shot multiple people there.
Multiple people have been injured in a shooting at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center, the NYPD said.
Police are advising people to avoid the area.
A law enforcement official says the gunman who opened fire at a New York City hospital was a doctor who formerly worked there.
The NYPD and FDNY responded to the hospital shortly before 3:00 p.m.
CBS News reported that a gunman, believed to be a former hospital employee, was armed with a rifle and had barricaded himself inside the building.

It is about a mile and a half north of Yankee Stadium.
Police had no immediate information on whether anyone was killed.
