AAA put the average at $2.73 while GasBuddy.com put the Miami average at $2.71, down 3.9 cents from where its average last week. This time previous year consumers were paying an average of $2.09 per gallon.
In Paducah, prices ranged from $2.31 to $2.48.
Gasoline prices are slowly but steadily falling after they previously skyrocketed in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey.
That's still a nickel higher than the national average and 54 cents higher per gallon than the in-state price one year ago.
The Great Lakes region is usually the most volatile in the country and that market had to make adjustments in the wake of Harvey, though a weekly jump in gasoline inventories led to big declines in gas prices.
Prices are finally returning to normal after supply and demand have begun to balance out.

In Rapid City, the average price for a gallon of gas is $2.32, according to Triple A. Statewide average gas prices have fallen three cents per gallon, according to GasBuddy.
Ticking slowly and steadily, regular gas prices have receded for the last 10 consecutive days. This is down more than $.07 in the last two weeks.
"Gas prices are getting cheaper by the day", AAA spokesperson Jeanette Casselano said in a statement.
Gas prices in northern New England are coming down in northern New England, although it may still be some time before drivers see pre-hurricane prices. A month ago, the average was more than 35 cents lower.
This comes after fuel prices soared to 3-year highs due to Hurricanes Harvey and Irma.
