He said that Patidar leader Varun Patel, who had joined the BJP on Saturday, took him to meet Vaghani and other BJP leaders on Sunday and he was offered Rs 1 crore.
Patidar leader blames BJP of offering a bribe to join the party, while BJP denying the allegations accuses Congress of doing media stunt. He told that both BJP and Congress are Theif parties, BJP is bigger thief while congress is his cousin brother. Lawyer-turned-Dalit leader Jignesh Mewani and Hardik Patel have already declared that they will do whatecer is in their hands to defeat the BJP. Invoking the KHAM theory propounded by former Congress government in Gujarat, Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel today alleged that the opposition party has once again taken that path to create a rift between various communities to gain power.
Over the weekend, Alpesh Thakore, a newly-prominent young leader of backward castes in Gujarat, met Mr Gandhi at his residence in Delhi and said that he will join the Congress in the next few days.
Though the whereabouts of the meeting are not known as for now, but these closed-door meeting can completely change the course of politics in Gujarat if the Patidars extend their support to Congress, which is quite possible after the recent incident of trying to buy the Patidar leader.
Patel, a senior member of the Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti or PAAS in North Gujarat, the group led by Hardik Patel, said that the money was offered to him through Varun Patel.
However, it is said that the theory backfired as it ignored the decisive vote-bank of Patidars in Gujarat. When he realised that BJP is not doing anything in favour of his community, he resigned from BJP and also thanked Narendra Patel, to reveal the truth about BJP.
