Powered by Apple´s Siri digital assistant, HomePod is priced starting at $349, at the high end of the market, and is designed with high-quality audio to pair with the Apple Music subscription service.
We don't have specific reasons as to why Apple chose to put back the release of the HomePod, but this likely wasn't a light decision for Apple seeing as holiday shopping season is right around the corner.
