Powered by Apple´s Siri digital assistant, HomePod is priced starting at $349, at the high end of the market, and is designed with high-quality audio to pair with the Apple Music subscription service.

We don't have specific reasons as to why Apple chose to put back the release of the HomePod, but this likely wasn't a light decision for Apple seeing as holiday shopping season is right around the corner.

People use voice assistants more often on smart speakers than on phones, so even if owners of Amazon or Google speakers also have an iPhone, there's a good chance that they're talking to Alexa or Google Assistant as much or more than Siri. Apple said it can detect where its located in a room and adjust its sound accordingly.
