Ridley Scott, along with producers Dan Friedkin and Bradley Thomas, made a decision to remove all of Kevin Spacey's scenes from the film fearing that the sex scandal could hurt the film. That move resulted after a weekend of back and forth, with Scott and Friedkin in particular incensed that the sordid allegations against Spacey might doom a film that Scott dropped everything to direct, and on which so many people worked hard and did not deserve to see the results hobbled in the marketplace because of the taint of scandal.
Deadline Hollywood first reported the news.
Cast-members Mark Wahlberg and Michelle Williams are reportedly cooperating with the reshoot, and the cast and crew's decision to redo Spacey's scenes with Plummer was unanimous. The family chose to come forward, she said, after others went public with allegations of sexual misconduct against Spacey and other celebrities. All the Money in the World chronicles the true life saga of the kidnapping of John Paul Getty III (Charlie Plummer) and his mother's desperate attempt to convince his insanely wealthy grandfather (Spacey/Plummer) to pay the ransom.

His role in All the Money in the World is to be recast and his scenes reshot.
The film was originally set to have its world premiere at the AFI Fest in Los Angeles on 16 November but was pulled amid the harassment reports surrounding Spacey, who has also been fired from House of Cards.
Spacey's former publicist said last week that the actor was "taking the time necessary to seek evaluation and treatment".
Several other allegations of misconduct have since surfaced, including a claim by US TV presenter Heather Unruh that the actor groped her 18-year-old son in a bar last year. "But if I did behave then as he describes, I owe him the sincerest apology for what would have been deeply inappropriate drunken behavior, and I am sorry for the feelings he describes having carried with him all these years".
