Ivanka Trump's unannounced visit to a Norwalk, Connecticut, high school sparked backlash from some parents who said they were given little information about the trip. Though the elementary school students there were given the opportunity of a lifetime to interact with a First Daughter, some of the parents are throwing a fit because they were not given advance notice of her visit.
Karey Fitzgerald, of Norwalk, told News 12 CT she thinks parents should have had the choice of whether to send their child to school. "I figure we ought to have had the decision to send our youngster to class or keep them home".
"To see the passion and enthusiasm for bringing real-life skills into a classroom environment but then coupling it with real-life experience through internship creates this really handsome virtuous angle", she said, News 12 New Jersey reported.

Some parents in Democratic-dominated CT were unhappy with the visit. "Hope the diversity of our students and our large immigrant population doesn't scare her away!"
After her trip to the school, Ivanka later tweeted her praise for the staff and "bright, talented students", along with photos from the visit.
Ivanka has reportedly made STEM education and computer science a priority within the Trump administration.
She has focused her efforts on getting more girls interested in computer sciences.
