Around 10:20 a.m. Sunday, Lorraine Saylor, 66, was mauled by the two dogs as she was putting bird seed out in her yard at her Kentucky home in Arjay, about 200 miles southeast of Louisville and near the Tennessee border.
If you see a pit bull matching that description, in the Arjay or surrounding area, call Bell County dispatch immediately at 606-337-6174 or 911. When he went outside to see what the commotion was, he saw the two dogs attacking his brother. It is not known who, if anyone, was watching over the dogs when they attacked the Saylors. Her husband was hospitalized.
According to deputies, the husband suffered wounds as well, but was able to shoot both dogs killing one while the other ran off near Country Lane. One escaped, however, according to the sheriff's department.
Police are asking people in the community to be on the lookout for a brown and white pit bull that is injured.
Animal control and the Bell County Sheriff's department are now searching for the other dog.
IL loses title of 5th largest state to Pennsylvania
IL was among eight states that saw their population fall, and lost more people than the seven other states that dropped. Net worldwide migration decreased 1.8 percent between 2016 and 2017, making it the first drop since 2012-2013.
This is not the only pit bull attack of the year.
Lankford now also faces charges of harboring a vicious animal after authorities said his two pit bulls attacked a couple and killed a woman.
Animal Control will examine the dead dog on either Tuesday or Wednesday, according to WYMT.
Animal rights group PETA said that pit bulls are "the most abused dogs on Earth". The other pit bull ran off. "She anxious more about neighbors and friends than she did herself, as Johnny's the same way, they're just a very giving couple".
