"We were hoping that the AT&T partnership would pave the way for similar deals with other USA carriers", a Huawei manager told The Information. Now, the smartphone maker has confirmed that that will no longer be the case.
Huawei still plans to sell a version of its Mate 10 not tied to a specific carrier. "US customers need a better choice, and as a leader in technology and innovation, Huawei is prepared to fill this need". It would have been the Chinese company's biggest opportunity to break into the US market with its smartphones.
According to the Journal, Huawei had been expected to announce Tuesday at the CES trade show in Las Vegas that it had reached an agreement with AT&T, its first partnership with a major United States mobile carrier.
Ball to celebrate MLK
Light refreshments will be served and a live DJ will be on hand for entertainment. The theme of this observance is "Peace and Equality: A Dream for All People".

A report from The Information claims that the same "political pressure" situation happened here. USA customers who were looking forward to the device can get it, but not in the manner that many prefer and have grown accustomed to.
Huawei has continually denied allegations that it spies for China.
