Several local government entities have announced altered open hours and meeting times due to the January 8 College Football Playoff National Championship at Atlanta's Mercedes-Benz Stadium. First Lady Melania Trump is also expected to attend the contest.
The national championship game in Atlanta pits the University of Georgia against the University of Alabama. Maybe they'll have it playing on screens.
In a statement emailed to The Associated Press, Atlanta police spokesman Carlos Campos said "we're aware of his visit" and are working with the agency charged with protecting the president. It's not immediately known whether another top Trump ally in Georgia - U.S. Sen.
"The President would like to start by congratulating two great teams from two great states, both in the heart of Trump country", Sanders said.
For Georgia, a president's attendance could bode well: With President Jimmy Carter and his wife Rosalynn in the stands at the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans, Georgia won a national championship by defeating Notre Dame on January 1, 1981.
