Reports suggest various individuals have contacted these businesses to get them to stop their partnerships.
Several companies in the United States have ended long-held customer discounts for National Rifle Association members following the Florida massacre.
Members of the NRA have access to special offers from partner companies on its website, ranging from life insurance to wine clubs. Home security company SimpliSafe and Hertz Corp also terminated discount programs.
Before the corporate defections, almost two dozen companies nationwide had offered incentives to NRA members, according to ThinkProgress.com, a news site owned by the Center for American Progress Action Fund. First National Bank of Omaha, which backs the card, said it would not renew its contract. More companies have followed suit, including Enterprise Holdings, which owns major auto rental companies like Alamo and Enterprise, with Hertz soon joining in.
