The next-generation Qualcomm TrueWireless technology is supported on the recently introduced QCC5100 series breakthrough Bluetooth audio System-on-Chip (SoC), which is created to help reduce power consumption by up to 65 percent for voice call and music streaming compared to our previous generation device.
Qualcomm has also incorporated foveated rendering with its new headset, which uses an eye tracker to figure out where the user's eye is focused, and lower the resolution of the peripheral vision areas.

Qualcomm's reference designs already supported some of the first wave of standalone VR devices from Google Daydream, Oculus and Vive. The Snapdragon 845 headset is capable of displaying two 2400 x 2400 pixel screens at 120 frames per second, which is considerably higher than most existing headsets.
Qualcomm previewed Always Connected PCs in late December at the Snapdragon Technology Summit, and later this year, OEMs such as HP, ASUS, and Lenovo will begin shipping the first products to stores shelves and carriers. In foveated rendering, the headset detects where your eyes are looking. The GPU uses that information to render higher quality graphics where the eyes are paying attention.
The 845 platform also includes a digital signal processor for measuring, filtering, or compressing analog signals. The VR HMD market is a little bit slower to the punch.
But the key to a good VR experience is movement tracking, which is why the Snapdragon 845 VR headset comes equipped with a suite of cameras. With this mobile platform (processor, etc, ) hardware manufacturers will be able to make fully dedicated mobile VR headsets - and maybe products we've not yet seen or imagined.
