"We have accepted demands of protesting candidates and have given orders for CBI inquiry, the protest should now stop", Rajnath said. The chairman of the top education commission which conducts examinations for subordinate services confirmed that he has requested the CBI to investigate the incident that took place on February 21, where, as per some students, the question paper of the examination was leaked. They demanded a CBI enquiry into the allegations of leak of questions of the Combined Graduate Level (Tier-II) Examination 2017 held from 17 to 22 February. The protest by the students was taken to the Delhi street.
On 28 February 2018, the Commission cited the protest to be "instigated by coaching institutes with vested interests, ' and allowed candidates time till evening to present their case".
