So Bethesda took more of a long-term view at its future during the showcase. What really matters is that Bethesda is, right now, working on a new Elder Scrolls game. Id Software studio head Tim Willits said that the company chose to partner with Avalanche given the company's history of making insane open-world action games. All in first person, with "console graphics" (it looks better than Oblivion, not as good as Skyrim), this will be full-blown open world RPG packed full of both hand-crafted and procedurally generated dungeons and missions. "You have to see this running on an iPhone X", the company representative gushed in an on-stage demo. "You want the DOOM Slayer to feel even more powerful?"
More as we get it. There are twice as many in this game. Doom Eternal doesn't have a release date, but we'll see the first gameplay on August 10th. You can preorder it tonight in the App Store.
All games in the Elder Scrolls series take place in the fictional realm of Tamriel. It's coming out in 2019.
