After months of rumors, Apple has confirmed that it will be holding an event on september 12, with many insiders speculating that the company will use the day to announce a slate of new products, including new iPhones, MacBooks, iPads and more.
The company will unveil its renewed iPhone strategy at the event. Now another leak has appeared, suggesting that an improved Apple Watch model is also on the way.
Apple might have one all-screen iPhone right now - the pricey iPhone X - but if you wanted a few more, you might get your wish. Most of the other design elements look the same. The new iPhones will boast significantly bigger, edge-to-edge screens. It will be particularly interesting to see how the firm markets the rumored cheaper iPhone, given the relatively poor reception of the iPhone 5c, a budget iPhone model the company offered in 2013 in response to increased global demand for cheaper phones. A larger, more bezel-free display seems to be there, along with a totally new watch face.
Although the iPhone business is making more money than ever, the number of iPhones that Apple is selling isn't growing as fast as it did in the early days of the smartphone market.
The 2018 event is also taking place live from the headquarters in Cupertino with proceedings expected to get underway at around 6pm BST. It's also worth noting that Apple has retired the weird red dot on the Digital Crown, though there appears to be a (much less weird) red ring in its place.
Apple's clever 3D Touch feature has seen mixed success since its introduction in 2015 with the iPhone 6s.
