To balance the record-breaking price of the new iPhone XS models, Apple will also launch a new cheaper smartphone, called the iPhone XR, though even it will cost a minimum of $1229 and up to $1479 for the 256GB model. On the back of the device is a vertical camera setup which houses two cameras and a flash.
Apple will be hoping that bigger is better with the release of their new phones because while there wasn't a massive overall sea change in terms of the design, the XS Max is a very big unit. This time Apple has also given dual SIM support.
The phones come with a 12-megapixel dual camera, and a 7-megapixel front-facing camera, and can last up to 30 minutes in water up to two meters deep. Likewise, buyers will have to shell to Rs. 1,09,900, Rs. 1,24,900, and Rs. 1,44,900 for the 64GB, 256GB, and 512GB storage options of the iPhone XS Max, respectively. Prices for Hong Kong have not been announced, but US pricing has the XS starting at US$999, XS Max US$1,099, and XR at US$749. Apple also shared that the second wave of shipment will begin on September 28.
The new iPhones will produce better low-light photos because the main camera lens has a large micron pixel size of 1.4 - the only other phone with pixel size that large is the Huawei P20 Pro.
This is Apple's biggest update to the Watch since it was first launched so there's a lot new here.
Panthers open season with 16-8 win over Cowboys
But since the day wasn't over, Bryant wasn't finished taking shots at his former team. The Cowboys did not play well in their 16-8 loss to the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.
The Max is the Xs' bigger brother. In fact, features have been taken away - there is now no iPhone with Touch ID. No OLED screen and it's made of aluminium instead of stainless steel, but the bells and whistles inside are pretty similar to its iPhone XS cousins.
To differentiate itself from the iPhone XS series, the XR gets the iPhone 5C treatment with a choice of six colours, namely Blue, White, Black, Yellow, Coral and Red.
Apple is calling it a Liquid Retina HD display and they say it's the most advanced LCD in the industry. That emboldened the company to aim an even more expensive device at the affluent households that tend to gravitate to its products, especially in the USA and Europe.
Apple's latest handsets feature different screen sizes and price points, in an attempt to appeal to a wide range of customers and defy a declining global smartphone market.
In addition, Apple said the Series 4 Apple Watch will also be able to detect when someone falls - and can tell the difference between a trip and a fall. The Apple Watch will keep a track of the patterns and you can export the patterns using the Health app into PDF files that you can share with your doctor.
