News of the Browns' intent to part ways with Gordon came out Saturday evening when ESPN's Adam Schefter reported the team's intent to release Gordon on Monday. "Unfortunately, we've reached a point where we feel it's best to part ways and move forward. We wish Josh well".
Gordon was surprisingly declared out for Sunday's game earlier on Saturday, and it was also reported he would not travel with the team to New Orleans. He reunited with the club August 18.
