Police said Stallard was shot in the back of the head inside the store and Jones was killed in the parking lot. "I feel that way about any act of violence and cruelty", Fischer said.
Multiple Kroger employees and employee family members told CBS affiliate WKLY a person came into the store shooting, the station's Lauren Adams reports via Twitter.
Deacon said he saw two men run out of the store into the parking lot, shooting at each other.

"[My father] didn't realize it was [the shooter] till he had already seen the gun by his side", said the son, who was at the scene of the shooting, according to a local Fox affiliate.

Kroger said in a statement that the company is "shocked and saddened" by the incident, and the store was closed and will re-open after the investigation concludes. The suspect fled the scene and was apprehended nearby, police said. Meanwhile, a dispatcher with the police department said a suspect was detained following the shooting.

The FBI released a statement saying that they are now assisting the police with their investigation and evaluating the evidence to determine if there were any violations of federal law. "We take pride in our resilient community and know that we will move forward together and not let this incident define us".
