Tesla rallied as much as 5% Tuesday morning after a judge approved CEO Elon Musk's settlement over a fraud charge with the Securities and Exchange Commission. "Shareholders could either to sell at 420 or hold shares & go private".
In a joint filing late on Wednesday, Tesla and SEC in support of the settlement said the terms were in the best interest of investors.
The company will also pay a $20 million fine, despite not being charged with fraud.
A Tesla spokesperson confirmed the settlement, but said the automaker would make no further comment on the matter. Musk said the film was great but that he also loved "Princess Mononoke" from the same studio and director.
The settlement was approved by a US judge on Tuesday.

Tesla filed a federal trademark application dated on Monday for the name "Teslaquila" consisting of either "distilled agave liquor" or "Distilled blue agave liquor". Musk's tweets set Twitter a buzz as people speculated that he is planning to build a robot after his tweets on the Japanese animation titles. However, one requirement of the settlement amongst others was to appoint a neutral Chairman on the company's Board; the reason being initiating additional oversight on the part of Mr. Musk.
Tesla received over 450,000 reservations for its first mass-market electric auto since the company began taking deposits on March, 31 2016.
