Bulger, who was convicted in 2013 of 11 murders, inspired several films based on his dark life. A prison source told TMZ that Bulger was attacked by three fellow prisoners on Tuesday morning. "No staff or other inmates were injured, and at no time was the public in danger".
"Bulger embarked upon a life of crime at the age of 14 and had become a prominent figure in Boston's organized crime scene by the late 1970s".
Bulger was convicted in 2013 of being complicit in 11 mob killings.
Bulger was born September 3, 1929, in Boston.
