Patrick Mahomes and Kareem Hunt entered the National Football League as part of Kansas City's 2017 draft class and quickly formed a tight friendship as they tried to build the Chiefs into a Super Bowl contender.
Former Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice has weighed in on the latest news surrounding Kareem Hunt's February altercation with a woman, and he wants to aid the former Chiefs running back.
Members of the Kansas City Chiefs were asked after Sunday's win over the Oakland Raiders about what happened with Kareem Hunt.
"Honestly, I just wanted to the let the world know how sorry I am for my actions", Hunt said in an interview with ESPN. "We don't do those things". "It's been a tough time for me and I'm extremely embarrassed because of that video". "If I could (contact her), I want to tell her right now that I am sorry for my actions that night".
The NFL made multiple attempts to obtain the video of Hunt, but the hotel said corporate policy only allowed footage to be given to law enforcement.
The video surfaced last week and the Chiefs acted quickly, cutting Hunt lose on Friday.
Just 40 minutes later, the Chiefs released a statement confirming they were severing ties with him.

It doesn't happen that often to be 100% honest, but it happened tonight and we were not calm enough. But it still feels a bit rubbish and now we have to use Anfield one more time.
"We made the decision that we made", Reid said.
Basically, he is saying that Donald Trump and other people in power are so disgusting that a little bit of violence against women is "small potatoes". We handle it within and we handle it with the person that it affects. Later that day, they released Hunt, the NFL's leading rusher last season as a rookie.
"It's really unfortunate." Evan Casey, Chiefs fan, said.
Now Kansas City must go through the stretch run of the season and the playoffs without one of its most important offensive pieces and popular locker room personality. Hunt then collided with a man who then knocked the woman down before the 23-year-old running back kicked the woman in the leg. "It's a tough situation".
"With the interchangeability of the running back position these days I don't think it'll be a major impact", Casey said. So we try to stay distraction-free over here.
"When everybody else saw the video, that's when I saw the video, that's when the Chiefs saw the video", he said.
Hunt had 824 rushing yards and seven touchdowns through 11 games in 2018.
