According to Microsoft, its virtual assistant Cortana is no longer in direct competition with Amazon's Alexa and Google's Assistant."Cortana needs to be that skill for anybody who's a Microsoft 365 subscriber".
Nadella seems happy to avoid getting involved in the creation of more hardware devices for Cortana, saying: "And you should also be able to use it on Google Assistant".
If you somehow find yourself still using a Windows 10 mobile device, expect more disappointment.
In March, Facebook deserted Windows Phones.
The App Store may continue to work after end of support.
