Warner Bros has announced the release date for The Batman which will be written and directed by Matt Reeves.
The 26-year-old singer, who has as many acting credits as he does songs, pitched himself as a possible replacement for Ben Affleck after the actor seemingly confirmed his exit as Batman in the movie franchise. Now the film's writer/director Matt Reeves has spoken to THR about his plans for the film, which includes a more noir Batman doing real detective work, as well as an extensive rogues gallery! At Comic-Con 2017, the actor appeared excited for his next Batman movie, telling the crowd, "I'm the luckiest guy". Titled The Suicide Squad, the film is also scheduled for a 2021 release, as per The Hollywood Reporter. WB has scheduled the movie for an August 2021 release, which should give plenty of time to develop this fully. I guess we will share any further news we find as it happens, so watch this space. The comics have a history of that.
Additionally, it looks like Gunn had already started writing the script for the upcoming film, which will now be called the Suicide Squad, emphasis on the "the". "I am incredibly honored and excited to be working with Warner Bros to bring an epic and emotional new take on the Caped Crusader to the big screen", stated Reeves during a presser. One would imagine those talks will progress well and I think we can pretty much say, that barring some drastic differences of opinion, Gunn will write and direct the movie for WB/DC.

They also described a radio host who Stone had known for more than 10 years, which matches the profile of Randy Credico. According to special counsel, Stone had dozens of text messages pertinent to that inquiry when he made that statement.
"I thought at the time this was going to be a very good career move", he told Graham Norton in 2015.
Now comes the speculation as to who he'll cast. Maybe we can all finally get off the "Ben Affleck is Batman no more!" merry-go-round.
"In terms of what Tim and I discussed for the movie, I knew we were right on", he said in 2017, 25 years on from his second and final Bat-outing in Batman Returns. "I'd love this to be one where when we go on that journey of tracking down the criminals and trying to solve a crime".
