Sayoc listed the intended recipients of his packages, including former President Barack Obama, Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, U.S. Senators Cory Booker and Kamala Harris, billionaire investor and Democratic donor George Soros, former Central Intelligence Agency director John Brennan, actor Robert DeNiro and CNN. He faces a minimum of 10 years in prison and possibly as much as life behind bars at his scheduled September 12 sentencing.
"I sent all 16 devices with the intent to threaten or intimidate", Sayoc told the court.
Trump and his allies have repeatedly pushed back against the idea that his incendiary rhetoric could be linked to extremist violence, including most recently in the wake of the New Zealand mosque attacks.

Sayoc mailed 16 improvised explosive devices to 13 targets around the United States, including 11 current or former US government officials, the U.S attorney's statement says. The devices never posed a threat to their targets because they were so poorly made, officials said.
