A series of quick shots show us forces being deployed to counter Rambo's assault as he breaks out his trusty bow and arrow (with a smash cut to an exploding vehicle just as he releases the string serving as an awesome visual callback to those exploding arrowheads which served him so well in 1985's Rambo: First Blood Part II).
Rambo: Last Blood picks up where 2008's Rambo left off, with Stallone's troubled veteran having returned to the United States to live a quiet life free of the death and carnage that has followed him since the franchise's first film, 1982's (yes, 1982!) First Blood.
We had previously got a first look at the film back in October of previous year. In his mission to rescue the young woman, he'll be joined by Paz Vega's reporter Carmen Delgado, and will ultimately go up against the cartel's leader Hugo Martinez, played by Sergio Peris-Mencheta.
Rambo Last: Blood is directed by Adrian Grunberg based off a screenplay written by Matthew Cirulnick and Sylvester Stallone.

In April 2017 Nu Image/Millennium chief Lerner hinted Stallone had quit the franchise due to creative "disagreements" with him, but admitted there was still a chance he could be involved in the fourth film.
Because nothing is over (nothing!), Rambo: Last Blood opens in theaters on September 20. But we're not cynical this newest/likely final Rambo will end his story on a sour note, because the first trailer for the film looks fantastic.
