Webster County Emergency Management Director Tom Simmons says the tornado damaged some buildings Tuesday at the Wild Animal Safari near Strafford, about 10 miles northeast of Springfield. At St. Louis, the MS was expected to crest Monday at almost 12 feet above flood stage. Many streets were impassable.
Nowata, Dewey and White Oak in northern Oklahoma also had reports of flooding.
Washington County Commissioner Mike Bouvier told reporters there are so many roads flooded his county that they don't have enough barricades or staff to block them all.
At least 21 tornadoes were reported in parts of Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri and Arkansas from early Monday to Tuesday morning, the National Weather Service said - and more are possible Tuesday, especially in parts of Missouri and Arkansas. There were no immediate reports of injuries.
