Multiple people were killed in a shooting at a WalMart in El Paso, Texas on Saturday and more than one suspect was in custody, an official said, after panicked shoppers fled in the latest USA mass shooting.
NBC reported that 18 people had people shot, their condition is not yet known.
Police spokesman Sgt. Robert Gomez said one male suspect is in custody. City police said on Twitter they had received "multi reports of multipe shooters".
They said: "Active Shooter in area of Hawkins and Gateway East. Scene is still active avoid the area". At least 10 victims with serious injuries are being treated at UMC El Paso, while others were taken to other hospitals. He asked "for everyone's strength for El Paso right now". Texas Lt. Governor Dan Patrick told Fox News that the suspect is a 21-year-old man.
Reports of a shooter also interrupted a town hall that Rep. Veronica Escobar, D-Texas, was hosting at Coronado High School, about 15 miles away from the mall.
The shooting took place at a Walmart.
