Iranian forces are actively using Global Positioning System jammers and pretending to be US or allies' warships to trick commercial vessels into traveling through Iranian waters and then seizing them, federal government officials say.
The warning was delivered in a statement that also cited an advisory from the Transportation Department's Maritime Administration.
